Cortex Risk Release

Purpose

Cortex is Conductus's local AI system, typically a Mac Mini at your location running Hermes and Total Memory workflows. It is in pilot status.

This Risk Release ensures you understand what you are signing up for before we install hardware, access your environment, or configure personal data flows. You must acknowledge this document before Cortex setup proceeds.

Early-stage / YOLO acknowledgment

You understand and accept that:

• Cortex is experimental software built by a small, learning-first team
• Features may change, break, or be removed without notice during the pilot
• AI outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate — you remain responsible for decisions
• We are not a large vendor with 24/7 enterprise support (yet)
• Uptime, accuracy, and security guarantees are limited during the pilot phase

What setup involves

White-glove Cortex onboarding may include:

• In-person installation of a Mac Mini or approved hardware at your location
• Network configuration to allow Selina-Cortex sync
• Access to calendars, contacts, files, and communication tools you authorize
• Custom workflows for Total Memory, voicemail, and per-contact context

You will have the opportunity to ask questions on a setup call before we proceed.

Data and privacy

• Local Cortex data stays on your hardware unless you explicitly enable cloud sync features
• You control which accounts, files, and integrations we connect
• We will explain what leaves your network before you approve it

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about your environment and use case
• Maintain physical security of installed hardware
• Review AI-generated actions before sending messages, scheduling events, or sharing files
• Notify us promptly if something behaves unexpectedly or you suspect unauthorized access
• Back up critical data — we help with workflows, but you own your files

Assumption of risk

You voluntarily participate in the Cortex pilot and assume risks associated with early-stage AI systems, including data loss, miscommunication, service interruption, and reliance on automated suggestions.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU RELEASE CONDUCTUS LLC AND ITS FOUNDERS, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES FROM LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM CORTEX PILOT USE, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

We do not guarantee specific business, productivity, or financial results. Testimonials and internal metrics reflect our own experience and early adopters — your results may differ.

Acknowledgment

Verbal acknowledgment on your Cortex setup call satisfies this release for v1. A digital signature flow may be added later. By proceeding with installation, you confirm you have read this page or discussed equivalent terms with our team.
